Where children and families come first

Welcome To Durham Lane Primary School

I am delighted to welcome you to the Durham Lane website.  Our school prospectus and school website are full of useful information about the school, its ethos, organisation and staffing. We hope you find it helpful. My vision is that Durham Lane Primary School is a centre for excellence, serving our children, their families and the community as best we can, making sure they achieve and succeed.

Our school is a special place full of learning, laughter and friendship where everyone is happy, feels safe and is valued. We enjoy the present, but look to the future โ€“ and aspire to equip our children with the skills, curiosity and resilience they need to continue learning throughout their lives.

Our children deserve the best from this school. Our duty is to provide it.

Dear Parents

As I'm sure you are well aware, there is quite an important football match taking place on Sunday!

Many of our children have told us that they are extremely excited about watching the Euros final and, as it may not end until really late, we feel that many of them may be tired the next day. As we would rather have children in school late than miss a full day, we would like to offer the following options:
Your child comes to school at the normal time (8:45-9:00)
Your child comes to school at 10:00 - they will not receive a late mark on this occasion.

If your child does come in at 10am, they will need to be signed in through the school office; a member of staff will be there to sign them in on a clip board.
Before school club will still be operating at the usual time so this will not be affected.
If you are a football fan, we hope that you have a lovely family evening watching the match together and we look forward to seeing your children on Monday morning, hopefully with triumphant smiles of joy on their faces.

It's coming home!!!

Yours hopefully

Helen Gregory
