Where children and families come first

Welcome To Durham Lane Primary School

I am delighted to welcome you to the Durham Lane website.  Our school prospectus and school website are full of useful information about the school, its ethos, organisation and staffing. We hope you find it helpful. My vision is that Durham Lane Primary School is a centre for excellence, serving our children, their families and the community as best we can, making sure they achieve and succeed.

Our school is a special place full of learning, laughter and friendship where everyone is happy, feels safe and is valued. We enjoy the present, but look to the future – and aspire to equip our children with the skills, curiosity and resilience they need to continue learning throughout their lives.

Our children deserve the best from this school. Our duty is to provide it.

30hrs FREE CHILDCARE PROVISION

We are delighted to announce that we will be offering 30 hour provision from January 2021. The children will continue with their morning placements, but we are now able to offer some flexibility for afternoon Nursery provision and before and afterschool provision. We are currently at the planning stage for staffing, however, we can confirm that Mrs Khan, the Early Years Leader, will be planning the curriculum with a member of staff supporting her to deliver the teaching and learning in the Nursery environment.

Good morning,
Could I please remind everyone of the walk to school approach we actively promote. Parents are able to park at the local shops and walk to school. We have a number of parents parking their cars on the chevroned areas which means they are illegally parked.
We have had a number of residents contact school over the last few weeks, raising their concerns.

Can I also remind you of the 'one-way system'. It recommends that you access Amberley Way via Mayfield Cresent closest to Allens West.

It will reassure you to learn, after the fire alarm was triggered by a very small electrical fault in our school kitchen, all of our systems passed the test of handling this emergency with flying colours.

The children's response was nothing short of 'outstanding'; they followed instructions quickly and sensibly, asked pertinent questions and understood that they were safe at all times.

They did us proud!!! ♥️

Daisy Pam and Woody think it’s been the most exciting day and told me the small electrical fire was a huge blaze 😂😂😂

Sounds like you all handled it like pros 👏

Well done team, well done children! 👏

Well done everyone!

Normally when I ask Katy what she did today at school she replies with “I cannot remember” Today she couldn’t stop telling me about the fire! 😆 Glad all ok and minimal damage!
