Where children and families come first

Welcome To Durham Lane Primary School

I am delighted to welcome you to the Durham Lane website.  Our school prospectus and school website are full of useful information about the school, its ethos, organisation and staffing. We hope you find it helpful. My vision is that Durham Lane Primary School is a centre for excellence, serving our children, their families and the community as best we can, making sure they achieve and succeed.

Our school is a special place full of learning, laughter and friendship where everyone is happy, feels safe and is valued. We enjoy the present, but look to the future โ€“ and aspire to equip our children with the skills, curiosity and resilience they need to continue learning throughout their lives.

Our children deserve the best from this school. Our duty is to provide it.

We have had a fantastic week in nursery! Our winter themed outdoor play has been full of fun and learning. The children completed an obstacle course with three hoops, three cones and three star jumps as we continued exploring the number three. They also practised counting while playing hopscotch. As part of our healthy living focus, we made our own fruit salad. The children chopped, sliced and even tasted lots of different fruits. We also enjoyed mixing and pouring in the outdoor water tray using our โ€œfruit salad soupโ€œ to build those pouring and stirring skills! Well done nursery!๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ๐Ÿ ... Reception have really enjoyed their โ€œYummy Scrummy in my Tummyโ€œ topic. We have sorted food into healthy and unhealthy, we have talked about the different food groups and we have enjoyed making and eating healthy cheese sandwiches. We have also enjoyed role-playing being a chef and making fantastic artwork of different fruits using chalk pastels.๐ŸŒฝ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿฅง๐ŸŒ๐Ÿฒ ... See MoreSee Less

This week, nursery children have been looking at winter. They enjoyed a winter walk on a frosty morning and then created beautiful fingerprint snowflakes! We also use sugar cubes in our fine motor area to stack and to count. We were able to explore different painting experiences by painting on to foil. It has been a lovely, frosty week of learning!โ„๏ธ๐Ÿงฃ๐Ÿงค ... See MoreSee Less
